Father Binyam Yacob Kebede

Father Binyam Yacob Kebede was born in 1982 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He felt called to become a priest and attended St. Frumentius Seminary for his high school. Later, he studied philosophy and theology at the Capuchin Franciscan Institute, also located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

He was ordained to the priesthood in the Archdiocese of Addis Ababa in May 2009. Over the next ten years, he served as a pastor in various cities in Ethiopia, including Debre Zeyit, Addis Ababa, and Debre Markos, as well as serving as a pastoral coordinator at the Eparchy of Bahirdar. Following that, Fr. Binyam pursued further education and completed his postgraduate study in spirituality at the  Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas: Angelicum in Rome in 2022.

In June 2023, Fr. Binyam was assigned to serve the Ethiopian-Canadian Catholic community in the Greater Toronto Area, succeeding Fr. Isaias Dulla. He is also a hospital chaplain in the Archdiocese of Toronto.


 

Father Isaias Dulla Argaw

Father Isaias Dulla Argaw was born in 1970 in the town of Emdiber, Ethiopia. He studied philosophy and theology at the Capuchin Franciscan Institute in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. 

He was ordained to the priesthood in the Archdiocese of Addis Ababa in 1998. In the subsequent eight years, he served as a pastor in the towns of Wolisso and Debre Zeyit in Ethiopia and as a Chaplain for the National Ethiopian Youth Catholics Workers Association. Following that, Fr. Isaias pursued further studies in Rome where he earned a master’s degree in Social Doctrines of the Church from the Pontificia Universitas Lateranensis, in 2008.

Father Isaias was assigned as the inaugural priest for Ethiopian Catholics in the Greater Toronto Area in January 2009. He served the Ethiopian-Canadian Catholic community with great responsibility until June 2023. Presently, he is an associate pastor at St. David Parish located in the city of Maple, Ontario
