1 Corinthians 10:1-18
Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were
under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; And were all baptized unto Moses in the
cloud and in the sea; And did all eat the same spiritual meat; And did all drink the same
spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock
was Christ. But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown
in the wilderness. Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust
after evil things, as they also lusted. Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it
is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. Neither let us
commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty
thousand. Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were
destroyed of serpents. Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were
destroyed of the destroyer. Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples:
and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. There hath no
temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not
suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make
a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from
idolatry. I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say. The cup of blessing which we bless,
is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the
communion of the body of Christ? For we being many are one bread, and one body: for
we are all partakers of that one bread. Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they which
eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar?

Revelation 14:1-5
And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him a hundred forty
and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads. And I heard a
voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and
I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: And they sung as it were a new
song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could
learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed
from the earth. These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins.
These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed
from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth
was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.

Matthew 12:1-21
At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an
hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat. But when the Pharisees saw it,
they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the
sabbath day. But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an
hungred, and they that were with him; How he entered into the house of God, and did
eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were
with him, but only for the priests? Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the
sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless? But I say
unto you, that in this place is one greater than the temple. But if ye had known what this
meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the
guiltless. For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day. And when he was
departed thence, he went into their synagogue: And, behold, there was a man which
had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, is it lawful to heal on the sabbath
days? that they might accuse him. And he said unto them, what man shall there be
among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the sabbath day, will he
not lay hold on it, and lift it out? How much then is a man better than a sheep?
Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days. Then saith he to the man, Stretch
forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.
Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy
him. But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes
followed him, and he healed them all; And charged them that they should not make him
known: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I
will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles. He shall not
strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets. A bruised reed shall he
not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he sends forth judgment unto
victory. And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.
